New and returning programs airing on Space during the 2010-2011 season:

TODD AND THE BOOK OF PURE EVIL – New (Original Canadian 13 x :30) SPACE’s newest original Canadian production follows the exploits of a book of awesome power. A book that will make your deepest, darkest dreams come true… but at a horrifying cost. This is The Book Of Pure Evil, and it’s loose in Crowley High. Anyone who possesses it is unable to resist the temptation to use its power for their own teen-angst fuelled desires. Thankfully, one teenager stands between The Book Of Pure Evil and the end of the world as we know it. His name is Todd. He’s flunking math, but he’ll save our asses. Whether he likes it or not.

NIKITA – New
In a remake of the feature film La Femme Nikita, this sexy and suspenseful series from executive producer McG (THE O.C., Charlie’s Angels) stars international action star Maggie Q (Live Free or Die Hard) as Nikita. Division is an ultra-secret government agency whose operatives are recruiting young people with severed ties to family, friends and society. Trained to be invisible assassins, no one ever leaves Division – except the charming and deadly Nikita, an empowered woman fighting for justice and making it her mission to undermine the now-corrupt organization. A force to be reckoned with, the rogue Nikita taunts Division, staying on its radar, but always one step ahead.

MERLIN – New (13 x :60)
Once upon a time in a mythical land far, far away, a sorcerer discovers that magic is his destiny. But, where magic is punishable by certain death, can young Merlin keep his powers a secret and fulfill his true potential? In SPACE’s exclusive Season 2 premiere, viewers return to the mythical city of Camelot, where the fantasy drama series follows the clashes of Merlin and a teenaged Prince Arthur as they struggle to understand their destinies.

SANCTUARY – Returning (Original Canadian 20 x :60)
SANCTUARY's story takes place in a world that is different from our own, yet feels familiar, a world where abnormals move secretly amongst the population, both threatening and threatened. SANCTUARY follows the adventures of the beautiful and enigmatic Dr. Helen Magnus and her protégé Will Zimmerman as they – with the help of their team – track down, study and protect the strange and often terrifying creatures that secretly populate our world.

THE LISTENER – Returning (Original Canadian, 13 x :60)
Toby Logan (Craig Olejnik- The Timekeeper, IN GOD’S COUNTRY), is THE LISTENER, a 25-year-old paramedic with a gift. In addition to being a highly skilled first responder, he’s been blessed, and cursed, with telepathic abilities that allow him to read people’s thoughts. When we meet Toby, we soon discover he’s taken only one person into his confidence, his mentor Dr. Ray Mercer (Colm Feore – THE BORGIAS, 24). With Ray’s help, Toby has kept the voices in his head at bay. THE LISTENER follows Toby as he tries to help people in crisis and in the process heal some of his own wounds.

STARGATE UNIVERSE – Returning (20 x :60)
STARGATE UNIVERSE follows a band of soldiers, scientists and civilians, who must fend for themselves when their hidden base comes under attack. The desperate survivors emerge aboard the ancient ship Destiny, set on an unknown course and unable to return to Earth.

HUMAN TARGET – Returning (13 x :60)
Based on the popular DC Comic and graphic novel, HUMAN TARGET stars Mark Valley as Christopher Chance, a unique private contractor/security expert/bodyguard that puts his own life on the line for his clients.

MEDIUM – Returning (22 x :60)
MEDIUM is a drama inspired by the real-life story of research medium Allison Dubois, an extraordinary young wife and mother who, since childhood, has struggled to make sense of her dreams and visions of dead people. Dubois works as a consultant to the D.A., using her psychic abilities to solve violent and horrifying crimes that baffle Phoenix police and others within the criminal justice system. Emmy Award-winner Patricia Arquette stars as Allison Dubois.

BEING HUMAN – New (Season 1, 6 x :60; Season 2, 8 x :60; Season 3 8 x :60)
BEING HUMAN is a comedy-drama series about three twenty-something housemates trying to live normal lives, despite struggling with unusual afflictions – one is a werewolf, one is a vampire and the other is a ghost.

DEAD SET – New (5 x :30)
In Britain the dead are returning to life and attacking the living. Remarkably, there’s group who aren’t worried because they’re the remaining contestants in the Big Brother house. Blissfully unaware of the horrific events unfolding outside, the contestants fall victim to the hungry masses one by one on eviction night

THE DEEP – New (5 x :60)
The five-part thriller follows the crew of an oceanographic submarine as they search the final frontiers of Earth for unknown and remarkable life forms. Set thousands of feet below the Arctic ice, the crew find themselves stranded with no power, limited oxygen and no communication with the surface.
